Curriculum
Take a look at what we offer our students to prepare them for life after education
Intent, Implementation and Impact Statement
Intent
At the heart of our curriculum is a commitment to preparing each young person for a meaningful and empowered adult life. We recognise that no two learners are the same, and our bespoke, relational approach ensures that individual needs, strengths and barriers are fully understood and addressed. Our curriculum is co-constructed with learners, giving them ownership of their development and enabling them to thrive socially, emotionally and academically.
We embed core competencies—Maths, English and digital skills—throughout the learner journey, ensuring they are equipped for both adulthood and the workplace. Through an inclusive, values-driven approach, we promote confidence, resilience and independence, while fostering awareness of social injustice and celebrating diversity. Employability, community participation, and wellbeing are central to our offer, underpinning every experience with purpose and direction.
Implementation
We deliver a highly individualised curriculum, shaped through collaboration with each learner and their support network. Outreach education forms a cornerstone of our provision, nurturing the relationships necessary for engagement, belonging and sustained progress. Our learners benefit from personalised pathways that stretch and challenge, enriched by CIAG (Careers Information, Advice and Guidance), targeted work experience, and access to local labour market opportunities.
British Values, safeguarding and Prevent are embedded across our curriculum, reinforcing an understanding of self and society. Personal development is threaded through all aspects of learning, with a consistent focus on building emotional literacy, communication, and the confidence to take positive risks. All sessions are designed to be enjoyable, engaging and reflective, encouraging learners to build on their strengths and move forward with purpose.
Impact
We measure impact not solely by outcomes, but by the transformation in our learners’ confidence, self-belief and capacity to contribute meaningfully to their communities. Learners are supported to apply their skills—academic, digital, and interpersonal—independently and appropriately within real-world contexts. Through ongoing review, we ensure knowledge is secure and skills are confidently performed.
Learners collaborate, discuss, reflect and lead. They make informed choices and take clear steps toward employment, further education or supported independence. Above all, they develop strategies to navigate their own lives with agency and optimism.

At our setting, Thrive and Thrive-Online play an integral role in supporting our learners who may benefit from targeted emotional and developmental support. With a Thrive Licensed Practitioner we are able to curate personal approaches for all learners. This process enables the Practitioner to explore the individual’s underlying needs and to develop a personalised action plan comprising strategies and activities tailored to those needs.
Support is delivered through structured one-to-one or small-group sessions, providing timely intervention that helps learners build the emotional resilience required to engage meaningfully with their education. Early identification and support are key to enabling young people to participate more fully in learning and to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.
We’re proud to now be an AIM-accredited centre, which means we offer a wide range of recognised qualifications designed to build confidence, life skills, and employability.
